Julius Warren Myers, Jr., a longtime resident of Baton Rouge and a loving and cherished father, Paw Paw and brother passed away on June 5, 2014. He was 68. Mr. Myers is survived by his son, Kenneth Luke Myers, wife April Capochino Myers, granddaughter Lexi Myers, grandson Lucien Myers; sister Vicky Ratcliff, husband T.L. Ratcliff; sister Jincy Endsley, husband Dennis Endsley, niece Jamie Pugh, fiancé Joe Gates and niece Katelin Pugh. He is preceded in death by his wife, Roxanne Israel Myers; son, Dane Garrett Myers; brother Kenneth Lee Myers and parents Jeanne Larche Myers and Julius Warren Myers, Sr. He was born in Monroe and graduated from Bastrop High School. He earned his bachelor's and master's degree from Northeast Louisiana University (now University of Louisiana at Monroe). He served as a second lieutenant in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and was a bronze star recipient. He was honorably discharged. A loyal LSU fan, he was also a gentle and kind soul who educated a community of children through baseball. He was a coach, a fisherman and an animal lover. Dubbed "junior meteorologist," Mr. Warren had a knack for predicting the weather and often sent e-mails or texts to alert friends and family of the latest climate pattern. He grilled a perfect steak, spoke the kindest words, loved unconditionally and will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, on Monday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will follow.
