A retired teacher with the Chicago Public Schools, he died Tuesday, June 25, 2013, at his residence in Scotlandville. He was 77, an Army and Air Force veteran and recipient of the Louisiana Service Medal. Visiting at Carney-Mackey Funeral Home on Sunday, July 7, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Religious service at Mount Pilgrim Baptist Church with wake at 9 a.m. and service at noon on Monday, July 8, conducted by Pastor Jesse Bilberry. Interment in Louisiana National Cemetery, Port Hudson. Survived by his son, Leroy Worth Brazier II, Chicago; sister, Amy L. Brazier-Pugh, Baton Rouge; stepdaughter, Kelli L. Currie, Brooklyn, N.Y.; two grandchildren and a great-grandchild.
