Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013, at a 2:30 PM Mass of Christian Burial in St. Genevieve Catholic Church in Lafayette, for Olivia "Lil Bit" Granger Stelly, 92, who died on Monday, November 25, 2013 at Maison Teche Nursing Center in Jeanerette. Interment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Reverend Bill Melancon, Pastor of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Erath, will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Jennifer Gary Hebert and Kaye Gary Prudhomme. Altar server will be her great grandson, Evan Hebert and Giftbearers will be her remaining great grandchildren. Karen Broussard, organist and soloist, will sing "You'll Never Walk Alone", "Prayer of St. Francis", "On Eagles' Wings", and "Amazing Grace (French)" for the services. Survivors include her daughter, Emily Gary and her husband John; four grandchildren, Christopher Gary, Kevin Gary, Jennifer Gary Hebert and her husband John and Kaye Gary Prudhomme and her husband Grant; and ten great grandchildren, Collin Gary, Grace Gary, Madison Muffoletto, Drew Gary, Shea Gary, Evan Hebert, Austin Hebert, Jax Hebert, Bailey Shiel and Carter Prudhomme. She was preceded in death by her husband Edward Stelly; her parents, Alexson and Azelima Granger; three brothers, Emick Granger, Eric Granger and Eddie Granger; and two sisters, Bernice Granger LeBlanc and Laurice Granger Sonnier. A resident of Lafayette for most of her life, "Lil Bit" enjoyed drinking coffee, visiting with friends and family and spending time at the casino. She had a long beautiful life of love and service to her family, church and community. Along with her husband, Edward, they served St. Joseph's Diner, St. Vincent de Paul, Knights of Columbus and Catholic Daughters, as well as VFW, Woodmen of the World and Foodnet. "Lil Bit" will be dearly missed by her family, friends and all who knew and loved her. Pallbearers will be John Gary, Christopher Gary, Kevin Gary, John Hebert, James Granger and Tony Boudreaux. Honorary Pallbearers will be Grant Prudhomme, John Wayne LeBlanc, Gerald LeBlanc, Frank Smalley, Steven Bodin and Wesley Menard. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's DOWNTOWN Lafayette location on Friday, November 29, 2013 from 9:00 AM until the time of service. A Rosary will be prayed by Mrs. Stelly's Godchild, Deacon Eugene Roy LeBlanc, on Friday at 11:00 AM in Martin & Castille Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Olivia "Lil Bit" Stelly's name to any of the above mentioned organizations she served or school of your choice.
