Roy Jude Dufresne passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at the age of 76. One of five children, he was born November 12, 1937, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Ernest Dufresne and Anna Baldwin Dufresne. Roy proudly served his country in the U. S. Navy for over 30 years. He retired from the Bond Department with Whitney Bank after 18 years. A longtime parishioner of St. Henry and St. Stephen Catholic Churches, Mr. Dufresne assisted at Masses for both. Roy is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sharon P. Dufresne; their children, Jeanne M. Dufresne and David M. Dufresne; and his beloved grandchildren, Remee and Laven. He is also survived by numerous other family and friends. Mr. Dufresne enjoyed photography and square dancing with his wife and daughter. He also spent time as part of a barbershop quartet. Roy was a man of solitude, who loved life to the fullest. His family and friends will forever cherish their memories of him. A memorial service was held at Lake Lawn Metairie Funeral Home on Tuesday, July 15, 2014.
