It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Rudolph Grant Sr on July 5th 2014 at the age of 69. He was born December 19, 1944 in Plaquemine, LA to Earnest Grant, Sr and Lillie Eve (Young) Grant. Rudy, as many knew him, served his country during the Vietnam War as SSGT in the US Air Force. Known by his loved ones as a chef extraordinaire, Rudy was also a talented gardener and an avid bicyclist. A loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, uncle and friend; his vibrant personality was out shined only by his enormous heart. As a master problem solver, he was always willing to lend a helping hand, a shoulder to cry on, or an ear for counsel. Proceeded in death by his parents and grandparents, Rudy is survived by his wife, Dorothy, sons, Thomas Jr and Myron, daughters Cybill and Amanda, grandsons Marquise and Isaiah, his four brothers Earnest Grant, Jr (Emma Jean), Oscar Paul Grant (Virginia), Louis Albert Grant, Sr (Marsha), Chaz Grant (Toni); five sisters, Josephine Brown (Alan), Algie Washington (Larry), Rose Marie Grant, Mary Eve Francis (Terry), Grace Helen Estes, a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and dear friends.
