Tillmon H. Huckeba, age 82, died peacefully in his home in California after a lengthy illness on July 2, 2014. He was born Dec. 23, 1931 in Irwin County, GA to Garvy and Lillie Mae Huckeba. After serving in the Air Force Mr. Huckeba settled in Baton Rouge, LA and was employed for 48 years with F.C. Schaffer Engineering Co. and Arkel International. He loved his work and had the opportunity to travel to many foreign countries on work-related projects. "Huck" as everyone called him, married Sandra Smith, who preceded him in death many years ago. Lucy Wilson Webb married Huck in 1991. They had many wonderful years together and were able to travel extensively, enjoy home and family, boating, fishing, gardening and cooking together. His humor, sweet nature and loving presence will be greatly missed. He is survived by wife, Lucy Huckeba, sons Gary and Chris Huckeba of Denham Springs, Brian Huckeba of California, daughter Amanda Hund of California and five grandchildren: Josh, Amber, Elizabeth, Brooke and Franklin. There will be a private family memorial.
