John 14:1-3 ""Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself: that where I am, there ye may be also."" A native of Hobart, La. and resident of Prairieville, he was born May 18, 1931 and died Friday, June 28, 2013 at the age of 82. He was a retired Plant Maintenance Operator. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. Visiting at Ascension Funeral Home on Sunday, June 30, 2013 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visitation resumes on Monday, July 1, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Kerry Ash. Interment in Oak Lawn Memorial Park. Survivors include his wife, Patricia Delatte Burns; 3 daughters and sons-in-law, Pamela B. and Don Daigle, Theresa and Robert Nickens, and Dianna and Jimmy Russell, Sr.; 4 sisters, Claudette Wilson, Phyllis Hebert, Joanie Kernan and Dotsy Mae Babin; 1 brother, C.J. Burns; 6 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Phillip L. Burns; mother, Therese Cedotal Ledoux and grandson, Brad Charles Daigle. Pallbearers will be Warren J. ""Joey"" Nickens, Jimmy Russell, Jr., Jason Russell, Carl VanOrden, Richmond Rushing, Sr., Jamie Worsham and Steve Delatte.
