William A. Blount affectionately known as "W.A." or "Bicycle Bill" was called home in the early afternoon of Saturday, July 5, 2014, in Baton Rouge after a long and valiant fight with Alzheimer's. He had a great love of adventure and could either be seen riding his bike all around Livingston Parish and beyond looking for treasures, or at home on his carport, feet propped up petting one of his cats. He joined the U.S. Navy in 1951 to see the world and served until 1955. When he arrived in California he stayed until 1987 when he retired from Lockheed after twenty-five years of service and then returned home to Louisiana. Visitation will be held at Salem Baptist Church, 36747 Weiss Road, Walker, on Friday, July 11, 2014 from 1:00pm until 3:00pm. He was preceded in death by his parents, Amos and Winnie Blount, two sons, Greg and Ken Blount as well as his stepmother Edith Blount and his brothers, Kenneth and Floyd Blount. He is survived by his two girls, Linnea and Debra and too many family and friends to list here. "Y'all know who you are." In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations may be made to your local ASPCA in his name. Please sign the online guestbook at Seale Funeral Service, Inc.
