William Gabriel "Bill" Scivicque, went to eternal rest Friday evening, May 2, 2014. Bill was 86 years old and a resident of Bear Island, Louisiana. He was born in Whitehall, LA to Mathilda & Gabriel Scivicque. Bill served in WWII as a Army Transport Service. He came home where he became a certified Electrician, working out of IBEW Local 130, New Orleans, LA. He also worked with the Louisiana Wildlife and Fisheries for a few years. Surviving are his wife, Theresa Scivicque; son and daughter-in-law, Craig & Angela Scivicque; daughter and son-in-law, Rose & Dwayne Balfantz; grandchildren, Gabe & Christian Scivicque, Katie Scivicque Fleniken & Beau, Jake & Ashley Balfantz, and Justin Scivicque; eight great-grandchildren, Baylee, Brayelle, Boston, and Bentley Balfantz, Maci Scivicque, Olivia and Tucker Fleniken, and Rylee Scivicque. Bill is preceded in death by his first wife of 39 loving years, Dolores Bencaz Scivicque; second wife, Gloria Chatelain Scivicque; parents, Gabriel & Mathilda Tschirn Scivicque; brothers, Otto and Sidney Scivicque; sisters, Ada, Ruby, Rita and Irene. The family would like to express their gratitude to his care takers at LaMaison Leisure Living for their great care; also, Hospice Compassion for always being there. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a in Bill's memory. He shall rest in peace! Visitation will be held at St. Stephen Catholic Church, 22502 Highway 22, Whitehall, LA 71322, on Monday, May 5, 2014 from 9:00 am until the Mass of Christian Burial begins at 11:00 am. Interment will follow in Maurepas Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Gabe and Justin Scivicque, Jake and Dwayne Balfantz, Beau Fleniken, and Bobby Gonzales. Honorary pallbearers are Doug Peak, Boston and Bentley Balfantz, Tucker Fleniken, and Henry Dupuy. A guest book is available at www.harrymckneely.com.
