A native of Baton Rouge and resident of Harvest Manor Nursing Home, he passed away at 12 p.m. Monday, July 22, 2013 at his residence. He was 93, a veteran of the U.S. Army and a retired Heavy Equipment Operator. Visiting at Bethel United Methodist Church on Thursday, July 25, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Gene Rives. Interment in Bethel United Methodist Cemetery. Survivors include his son, Archie I. McManus, Jr.; 6 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild. Preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Mullins McManus; parents, James Rufus and Etta Robinson McManus; 3 sisters, Ruth, Lola and Ethel; and 1 brother, Eugene. Pallbearers will be David McManus, Archie E. McManus, Kevin McManus, Brian McManus, Alvin Chandler and Bill McManus.
