Benjamin "Ben" L Sublett, 61 of Birmingham, AL passed away, April 4, 2014 at his home surrounded by his family. Ben was born June 6, 1952 in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He and his family moved to Birmingham in 1990 and he worked as an industrial Air Compressor Technician until he retired due to his health. Ben is survived by his loving wife, Donna Sublett, three daughters, Cassie Sublett, Kaitlin Sublett and Michele Sublett; two sons, Jason Sublett, David Sublett and wife Carrie Sublett; six grandchildren, Joseph Gonzales, Jordan Sublett, Rae Sublett, Jayden Gonzales, Jasey Sublett and Remee Sublett; three sisters, Pauline Albarado and husband Roger Albarado, Sylvia Sublett and Jeanne Sublett; one sister-in-law Elizabeth Sublett ; one brother Jamie Sublett and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Lorraine Sublett and brother William "Dee" Sublett. A celebration of life service will be held at 10 am on Saturday, April 19th at The Church St. Amant, 13423 Hwy 431, St Amant, LA 70774 officiated by Joe Martin. Ben loved our Lord, Jesus Christ and worked tirelessly to spread God's love to everyone he met. His passion, however, was for those incarcerated. He spent most of his time working with the Kairos of Alabama Prison Ministries to bring the love of Christ to the residents of Elmore, Draper and Donaldson Prisons.
