Crochet, Daniel James A retired data entry operator for J. Ray McDermott and a resident of Southside Gardens Retirement Community in Baton Rouge, he was entrusted to God's loving care at 7:31 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, 2006, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 55 and a native of Paincourtville. Visitation at Ourso Funeral Home in Pierre Part commenced Monday, Oct. 23, from 6 p.m. until 10 p.m. and resumes Tuesday, Oct. 24, from 8 a.m. until procession at 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Matt Dupre, celebrant. Entombment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by his mother, Maude Hebert Crochet of Pierre Part; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Roxanne and Layne Morales, Brusly, Laura and Dale Landry, Pierre Part, and Melinda and Tim Smith, Brusly; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernard Crochet, Brusly, and Barry and Martha Crochet, Pierre Part. Daniel is also survived by five nieces, four nephews and three great-nieces. He was preceded in death by his father, Pierre Crochet.

I met Danny at the retirement community and he was always such a pleasure to be around. Always happy and sweet and loved to dance. I know he's in a better place, but he will sure be missed here at Southside.
