A resident and native of Port Allen, she passed away at 2:30 a.m. Sunday, May 15, 2011, at age 88. Visiting at Holy Family Catholic Church in Port Allen on Wednesday, May 18, from 9 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., with the Rev. David Allen, celebrant. Interment in St. John the Baptist Catholic Church Cemetery in Brusly. Survived by a daughter, Janice Alexander Daigle and husband Carl, Dunnellon, Fla.; two sons, Leonard J. Alexander Jr. and wife Judy, Denham Springs, and Gary Alexander and wife Virginia "Ginger," Omaha, Neb.; brother, John E. Altazan and wife Marie, New Orleans; six grandchildren, Lynn Alexander, Paula Nation, Christie Walker, Christopher Daigle, Alysia Hoekstra and Nickolas Alexander; eight great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Joseph Alexander Sr.; parents, Edward and Daisy Thibodeaux Altazan; brothers, Clayton Altazan and Doyle "Dutch" Altazan; and sister, Ola Altazan Robbins. Pallbearers will be Lynn Alexander, Christopher Daigle, Russell Altazan, Doyle "Bo" Altazan, CA Altazan and Dantin "Danny" LeBlanc. Memorial donations may be made to The .
