Dorothy "Baby Doll" Coleman, 88, of Phoenix, Louisiana, passed away on Wednesday, June 5, 2013 in Baton Rouge. Funeral Service will be Saturday June 15, 2013 from 12:00 noon to 2 PM at Saint Joseph Baptist Church at 156 Saint Joseph Lane, Phoenix, Louisiana 70040. Dorothy was born February 25, 1925 in Phoenix, Louisiana to Josephine Williams Augustus and Henry Augustus, Senior; both are deceased. Dorothy later moved to New Orleans, Louisiana area, where she attended and graduated from McDonald 35 High School in New Orleans, Louisiana. Dorothy later attended and graduated from Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, receiving both a Bachelors and Masters Degree in Education. Her professional life was conducted in the Plaquemine Parish and Saint Bernard Parish school systems as a School Teacher. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Milton Coleman, Jr., currently of Carson, California; and Donald Coleman, currently of Baton Rouge, Louisiana; one sister, Mable B. Augustus of New Orleans, Louisiana; two brothers, Benjamin Augustus of New Orleans, Louisiana and Archie Augustus of New Orleans, Louisiana. Dorothy is also survived by two grandchildren, Knakhea J. Coleman and Erin Coleman Ford, both of Los Angeles, California; two great-grandchildren, Bricyn Coleman Naff and Maloy Coleman Ford, both of Los Angeles, California. Dorothy is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. A special thanks to Mable B. Augustus for being a wonderful sister and caregiver.
