A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2013 at Saint Michael the Archangel Catholic Church, Crowley, for Elida B. "Dee" Venable, 83, who died at 11:25 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, 2012 in Crowley. Fr. Jarrod Suire will celebrate the Mass and the Committal service at the Woodlawn Mausoleum. The Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m. Wednesday. Visitation may be observed on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. She is survived by 4 sons Michael E. Venable and his wife Dena of Baton Rouge, LA, John A. Venable and his wife Mona of Crowley, Stephen M. Venable of Crowley and William B. Venable and his wife Brenda of Corpus Christi; 12 grandchildren Evan Venable, Kyle Venable, Morgan Gillette, Willow Flores, John Brady Venable, Bryant J. Venable, Stephanie Webb, Stacey Hinze, Brandi McPeak, Brian Venable, Kristin Malespin and Heather Venable; 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Pauline Guilbeau Bazerque, her husband Emery J. Venable and her son James "Paps" Venable. Pallbearers will be Tommy McCullough, Tim McCullough, John Brady Venable, Evan Venable, Brian Venable, Bryant Venable, Kyle Venable, Jimbo Webb and William Hinze.
