AERTKER, ENNID SAINSBURY Age 84, she died Monday, Feb. 16, 2004, in Atlanta. She was born in Vernal, Utah, the sixth of seven children. On Sept. 1, 1939, Ennid married William Garic Aertker in Baton Rouge. She attended LSU, where she met Bill. In 1941, she graduated with honors and a bachelor's degree in home economics. Ennid and Bill were married for 56 years. Bill preceded her in death in January 1996. Ennid is survived by two daughters and two sons. They are Karen Erwin who lives in Shreveport, Nancy O'Brien and Steven Aertker who both live in Atlanta, and Brian Aertker who lives in Houston. She also has 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. In 1949, Ennid and Bill followed the pioneering spirit and moved to Caracas, Venezuela, where Bill worked for Exxon for 15 years. Before returning to Baton Rouge, they proceeded to live in San Juan, Puerto Rico, Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and Miami. Ennid was blessed with a great sense of humor and a caring, loving nature. Her culinary creations and recipes, which she readily shared, were well known. Her homes were comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, providing a nurturing place for her family and a wonderful setting for social gatherings. The family will receive friends at Greenoaks Funeral Home chapel from 3 p.m. Friday until a funeral service at 4 p.m. Interment in Greenoaks Memorial Park.
