Died 10:30 pm Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at her home. She was born in Ketona, Alabama, on January 13, 1918. As a young woman, she visited Carville to see her older brother, Sam, who was a pathologist at the Hansen Disease Center in Carville. There she met and married her husband of fifty-four years, David J. Carville, Sr. Survived by two daughters, Joan Carville Ervin and Christine Jeannette Carville, three sons and daughters-in-law, David John, Jr., and Cammie Comeaux Carville, Thomas Frederick and Fran Austin Carville, all of Baton Rouge, and Samuel Edward, Sr., and Hedwig Ohlmeyer Carville, of Plaquemine; grandchildren, Leslie Ervin Trahant, Stacey Ervin O'Malley and husband Bill, Shelley Ervin Lewis and husband Dwayne, Jennifer Carville, David John "Trey" Carville III, Samuel E. "Fritz" Carville, Jr. and wife Kellye, Hedwig-Logan Carville Murthy and husband Bob, and John Madison Carville II; ten great-grandchildren, Christopher Egan Trahant, Margaret-Logan and Catherine-Elise Murthy, Samuel E. "Trip" Carville III, and Kennan Ann Carville, Avery Katherine and Madison Kathleen Lewis, Brooks Knighten Carville, Ryan Patrick and Colin Michael O'Malley; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, David J. Carville, Sr., parents, David Lucas Black and Effie Jeanette Black, brothers, Sam Black, M.D., and Fred Black, in-laws to whom she was extremely close, L.A. and Pearl Carville, Sr., brothers and sisters-in-law, L.A. and Elsie Carville, Jr., Chester and Nippy Carville, Lloyd and Anne Carville, Mary Pearl Carville Blakeney and Col. Thomas Blakeney. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government Street, Thursday, March 29, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. and Friday, March 30, 2012 from 10:00 a.m. until religious services at noon in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Father John M. Carville. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Fritz Carville, Trey Carville, Madison Carville, Christopher Trahant, Bill O'Malley, Bob Murthy, and Dwayne Lewis. Honorary pallbearers will be Louis A. Carville III, Thomas O. Blakeney, Jr, and Chester James Carville, Jr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Vincent DePaul Community Pharmacy, P.O.
