George Hebert Chanove, of Palmettto, LA, passed away Thursday, November 22, 2012 at his house surrounded by his family. He was a pipe liner at Denbury Resources, Inc. in Washington, LA. He was a lifetime member of Nejma 897 Lodge in Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia and was a veteran of the Air Force. He also retired from Texaco after 30 years. He is survived by his loving wife, Elaine Luneau Duplessis Chanove, daughter, Lorrie Chanove Cousins and husband Jesse, step-daughter, Melissa Duplessis, step-son, Russel Duplessis and wife Mona Smith Duplessis, sisters, Mona ""Sugar"" Chanove Williams and husband Freddy, Rose Ann ""Bootsie"" Chanove Fabre, Marie Adele Chanove Begley and husband Phillip, Pamela Chanove Peterson, and Sandra Lee Wicker and husband Henry, grandchild, Anthony Cousins, step-grandchildren, Blair Johnson, Adrian Voisin, Blake, Megan, and Raeleigh Duplessis, step great-grandchildren, Abigail Washington and Brandon Duplessis. He is preceded in death by his parents, George Chanove Sr., and Zelica Louise Bourgoyne Chanove, daughter, Joanna Faye Chanove, brother, Barry Joseph Chanove, Best friend, Gary John Duplessis and brother-in-law, Louis Fabre. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, November 25, 2012 at Seale Funeral Home in Denham Springs from 5 PM until 9 PM. There will be a masonic sevice held at 7 PM on Sunday at Seale Funeral Home. There will also be a visitation held on Monday, November 26, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement, from 8 AM until religious services at 11 AM with burial to follow.
