A resident of Paulina for 33 years and retired from Colonial Sugars with 32 years of service, he died at 2:15 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2008, at his home. He was 71, a native of Gramercy and was of the Catholic faith. Visitation at Alexander Funeral Home, Lutcher, on Monday March, 17, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Tuesday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Frank Uter, celebrant. Entombment in the church mausoleum. He is survived by six sons and three daughters-in-law, Richard P. Blank, Port Allen, Danny J. and Amy Blank, Daniel J. Blank and Robert P. Blank, all of Paulina, John P. and Karen Blank, LaPlace, and Jerry J. and Christine Blank, Gonzales; two daughters and a son-in-law, Sally A. LeBlanc, Paulina, and Audrey M. and Michael Louque, of Gramercy; brother, Bernard Blank Sr., of El Paso; sisters, Emelie Eliser and husband Norris, Gonzales, Olympe "Teta" Smith, LaPlace, and Marie Loupe, Reserve; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Alice L. Blank; father, Hypolite Blank Sr.; mother, Eva Blanche Braud; brother, Ferrel Blank, Sr.; sister, Lelia Robertson; grandson, Nathan Todd; two granddaughters, Angel Blank and Abbigail Blank; and great-grandparents, Blanks and Braud. He was an avid gardener and enjoyed sports.
