A native and resident of Baton Rouge, she died at 8:20 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 13, 2013 at her residence. She was 87 and worked as a Cosmetologist. Visiting at New Sunlight Baptist Church on Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013 from 9 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. conducted by Rev. Dale Flowers. Interment in Roselawn Cemetery. Survivors include her husband, Lee Murff of Memphis, Tenn.; goddaughters, Esparonza (Alphonse) Albert and Roslyn Williams, both of Baton Rouge; niece, Evette Davis of Herlong, Calif.; nephew, Thomas Washington of Sparks, Nev.; sister, Annie Thompson; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Flowers; sisters, Deborah Tatum; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Miller. She attended and completed high school in Clinton, La. and became a Cosmetologist. She was a member of Kappa Chapter of Theta Nu Sigma National Sorority, Progressive Beautician League, Cosmetician Club, Louisiana State Beautician Association, New Sunlight Pastor Aide Club.
