Jeanette DeJohn, 92 years of age, passed away Oct. 11, 2012 surrounded by her family. Jeanette was born Sept. 23, 1920 in Napoleonville and resided in Baton Rouge. She is the daughter of the late August and Annie Rumfello. She was the second oldest with 5 siblings, Lucille Thompson, Elizabeth Albritton, Evelyn Cottle, Rosalie Bolden and Rudy Rumfello. She was married to Lawrence P. DeJohn, Sr. for 67 years, and together they owned and operated DeJohn Plumbing and Heating Company, located in Baton Rouge. Jeanette was a longtime member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother all of her adult years. Jeanette is survived by her two sons and daughters-in-law, Larry P. DeJohn, Jr. and Tara DeJohn, and Joseph and Linda DeJohn; her 5 grandchildren, Darrin DeJohn of Mandeville, Stephanie DeJohn Bromley of Mandeville, Chaelie DeJohn of Little Rock, Ark., Brad DeJohn of Baton Rouge, Christopher DeJohn of San Francisco, Calif.; 5 great grandchildren, Lauren Taylor and Joshua DeJohn; Jacob, Mathew and Jonathan Bromley; and Tatum DeJohn. Visitation will be Sunday, Oct. 14, 2012, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home, 9595 Florida Blvd. Morning visitation and service will be held Monday, Oct. 15, 2012 at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, 445 Marquette (6300 block of Government St.) from 8 a.m. until Mass at 10:30 a.m. "And the dust returns to earth as it was, and the spirit returns to God who gave it." Ecclesiastes 12:7.
