CARRUTH, LILLYE FAE Lillye Fae Boyd Carruth, 78, of Summit, Miss., died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at Southwest Mississippi Regional Medical Center following a lengthy illness. She was born Aug. 17, 1925, in Lawrence County. She was the daughter of H.N. Boyd and Arrie Marbury Boyd. She was a homemaker and a member of Mars Hill Baptist Church, Summit. She was valedictorian of her high school class at Carter's Creek. Her family said she loved to do needlework, being an expert at crochet and sewing. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, H.P. "Pete" Carruth; five brothers, Shelton Boyd, Grady Boyd, Richard Boyd, Corbett Boyd and Marvin Boyd; a sister and brother-in-law, Cordie and Bennett Beeson; and a grandson, Warren Dykes. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Janice Carruth of Summit, a daughter, Dianne Carruth of Summit, three grandchildren and their spouses, Stacy Moore and Hank of McComb and Lisa and Kevin Wells and Jan and Frankie Thornhill, all of Summit; six great-grandchildren, Ashleigh Roberts, Hannah Wells, Ryan Wells, Kayla Thornhill, Bradley Thornhill and Tony Moore; a brother and his wife, Alton and Naomi Boyd of Fairhope, Ala.; a brother-in-law and his wife, Melroy and Lyndell Boyd Carruth, Jackson; five sisters-in-law, Rosemary Boyd of St. Rose, Geraldine Boyd of Prairieville; Evelyn Brown of Bogue Chitto, Waddie Boyd of McComb and Joyce Boyd, Hattiesburg. Visitation was at Catchings Funeral Home, McComb, Miss., from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. Visitation at Mars Hill Baptist Church, Summit, from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with the Rev. Brett Campbell and the Rev. Riley Hinton officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Carruth's nephews. The family requests memorials be sent to Mars Hill Baptist Church Music Department, 6145 N. Greensburg Road, Summit, MS 39666.
