She was a retired director's secretary for the Department of Welfare and a resident and native of Plaquemine. She died Friday, Aug. 28, 2009, at Live Oak Retirement Center in Shreveport after a long struggle with Alzheimer's disease. She was 82. Visiting at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plaquemine on Monday, Aug. 31, from 9 a.m. until memorial service at 10 a.m., conducted by the Rev. Cleo Milano. Inurnment in St. John Cemetery. Survived by two daughters, Christine A. Alsup and husband Ronald T. Alsup, M.D., and Donna M. Rushing; a son, John A. Alberado Jr. and wife Kelly Passantino; two sisters, Juanita McCullar and Patsy Grace and husband Daniel Grace Jr.; a brother, Edward Lauve and wife Lottie Simon Lauve; seven grandchildren, Jennifer, Steve, Christian, Lauren, Kyle, Bret and Trey; and five great-grandchildren, Shawn, Danielle, Aaron, Jaden and Kynlee. She was preceded in death by her husband, John A. "Jimmie" Alberado; parents, Edward and Celyn "Celly" Lauve; two sisters, Hilda L. Martin and Catherine L. Rinaudo; two brothers, Paul and Harry Lauve; and a son, Donald Alberado. She loved to vacation with her sisters and brothers. She also loved playing cards with family and friends.
