Louis "Benny" Benoit Abadie, an employee of Cytec and native of Ama, died at home in Boutte on Thursday, Oct. 13, 2011. He was 54. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Roussel Abadie; a son Jesse Abadie, of Luling; daughter, Chelsea Abadie, of New Orleans; stepsons, Lowell and Lance Roussel, of Boutte; stepdaughters, Lacie Roussel, of Gonzales, and Lauren Roussel, of Belle Chasse; and stepgrandchildren, Gabrielle Keller, Chloe and Cambrie Roussel and Logan Roussel. He was the son of Dolores Oubre Abadie, of LaPlace, and Curtis Abadie, of Florida. Brother of Michele and husband Michael Bahry, of Morgan City, David and wife Donna, and Wayne and wife Tammy Abadie, of Luling. He is also survived by a niece, Ashley Bahry; and nephews, Jordan, Nicholas and Seth Abadie. He was preceded in death by brother, Charles "Chucky" Abadie; maternal grandparents, Edgar and Lucy Haydel Oubre, who were of Vacherie; and paternal grandparents, Louis Benoit Abadie and Philomene Roussel Abadie, who were of Edgard. Visitation will be held Saturday, Oct. 15, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:45 a.m. at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church of Luling, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at noon, with the Rev. David Rabe, celebrant. Burial at St. Charles Cemetery, Luling. The family would like to express thanks to St. Joseph Hospice and the many friends who have made his life more enjoyable for the past two years.
