Mary Ratcliff Martin went to be with her Lord Jesus Christ at the age of 90 years old. She was a native and resident of Ascension Parish. She and her husband were owners of Martin Sales and Service. She was a retired Special Education Aide for Ascension Parish School System. Services will be held at Ascension Baptist Church in Gonzales. Visitation will be Monday, Dec. 10 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. with services at 11 a.m. Burial will be at the Lusk Cemetery in Gonzales. Survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Lucy and Jewell Gautreaux, Shirley and Steve May. Grandchildren: Kyle and Gisela Gautreaux, Sharyn and David Ellis, Terri and David McClendon and Steven and Kay May. Great grandchildren: Justin and Paige Ellis, Blake and Rachel Gautreaux, Cameron and Brant McClendon, Nathan May, Amanda and Kellie Polk. Preceded in death by her husband, Henry Martin; sisters, Vivian DeLaune, Maxine Miller; parents, Frank and Dean Ratcliff; grandchildren, Nicky May and Jennifer May. She was the oldest charter member of Ascension Baptist Church. She was the past Worthy Matron of the Eastern Star.
