Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at a 3:00 PM Mass of Christian Burial in Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Scott, for Michael Joseph LeBlanc, 48, who died on Sunday, April 13, 2014, at his residence in Scott. Interment will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery. Reverend Mario Romero, Associate Pastor of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church will be the Celebrant of the Funeral Mass and will conduct the funeral services. Lectors will be Stephanie LeBlanc and Odile Segrest . Giftbearers will be Marlene Prejean and Maugie Pastor. Jodi Bollich, organist and soloist, will sing for the services. Left to cherish his memories include his mother, Claudette Prejean LeBlanc of Scott; two sisters, Stephanie LeBlanc of Lafayette, and Odile L. Segrest and her husband, James of Abbeville; one brother, Byron A. LeBlanc and his wife, Patricia of Metairie; aunts and uncles, Marlene P. Prejean, Roland F. LeBlanc, Kay L. Jarrell, Jean LeBlanc, Mike Saunier, Bertha Curley and her husband, James, and Morgan LeBlanc and his wife, Carol; nieces and nephews, Loren LeBlanc and his wife, Katherine, Atticus LeBlanc and his wife, Alison, Caelyn L. Furman and her husband, Frank, Lyle LeBlanc, Josh Segrest, Sarah Graham, Ben Segrest, Anna Vaughn Callahan and her husband, Derek, Daniel Segrest, and Rachel Segrest; and nine great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Dudley J. LeBlanc, Jr.; paternal grandparents, Dudley J. LeBlanc, Sr. and Evelyn H. LeBlanc of Abbeville; maternal grandparents, Louis "Doc" Prejean and Jeanne B. Prejean of Scott; his uncle, David L. Prejean of Scott; two aunts, Jackie LeBlanc and Maxine LeBlanc, both of Abbeville; and one nephew, Tyson L. LeBlanc of Metairie. Michael was a graduate of Lafayette High School and attended Southwestern University of Louisiana, majoring in Business. From an early age, Michael was fascinated with his grandfather, Dudley J. LeBlanc's marketing and entrepreneurial story of Hadacol. Through his passion and love, he became an avid collector of Hadacol and Dudley J. LeBlanc memorabilia and was able to co-produce and direct the PBS documentary: "Cajun Renaissance Man": Dudley J. LeBlanc. As a entrepreneur and visionary himself, he was the original owner of Executan Tanning Salon, CPR Nightclub, and Vertigo Nightclub. In recent years, he was very instrumental in various oil and gas business ventures. Michael will be remembered as a kind and gentle soul and was a friend to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten. Pallbearers will be Byron LeBlanc, Loren LeBlanc, Ben Segrest, Jonathan Marino, Paul Weller, Russell Bourg and John Abbott. Honorary Pallbearers will be Atticus LeBlanc, Lyle LeBlanc, Josh Segrest, Daniel Segrest, Scott Durand and Dan Hargett. The family requests that visitation be observed at Martin & Castille Funeral Home in Scott on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 from 11:00 AM until time of service.
