Come unto me ye that labour and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28. Nelson Watson Sr. was born on December 8, 1931 in St. Helena Parish. He died peacefully on September 19, 2013 with his family by his side. Visiting will be at Charlet Funeral Home, Inc. in Clinton, Louisiana on Monday September 23, 2013 from 9:00 am until service time at 1:00 pm and he will be laid to rest beside his late wife at Second Baptist Church in Jackson, Louisiana. Nelson was a strong man who loved his beagles and his hunting. He grew up in St. Helena parish with nine brothers and sisters. When he became an adult ,he enlisted in the Army and fought in the Korean War. When he came home from the war, he began his family. Nelson raised his family in Jackson, Louisiana and later in life moved to St. Francisville, Louisiana and lived the rest of his days with his daughter Helen. He is preceded in death by his father and mother, Milton and Rosa Watson, brothers, John Watson, Fred Watson, Cecil Watson, sisters, Erma Ard, Mary Sibley, and his wife Nadine Watson. He is survived by two sisters, Lula Booth of St. Francisville and Janice Duffy of Petal, Mississippi and two brothers, Benny Watson of Watson and Bobby Watson. He is also survived by his three children, Helen Kay Hartner of St. Fransicville, Bubba Watson and his wife Tracye of Denham Springs and Nelson Watson Jr. of Atlanta, Georgia. Nelson has six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Darryl Watson, Royce Landry, Nicholas Watson, Michael Watson, Ed Reames and Joe Booth.
