A retired riverboat pilot with Burnside Terminal, he passed away Monday evening, July 14, 2008, at St. Elizabeth Hospital, Gonzales. He was 63, a resident of Plaquemine and a native of Brusly. Visiting at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Brusly, on Thursday, July 17, from 1 p.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 3 p.m., with the Rev. Matt Dupre, celebrant. Entombment in the church cemetery. Survived by his wife of 36 years, Irene Hebert Alexander; mother, Mary Alexander Nickens; daughter, De Ette Alexander Himel and husband Michael; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Terry and Sue Anne Alexander, Reynolds Roth, and Dwayne and Marsha Roth; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Joan Black, and Wendy and Don Caldera; and eight grandchildren, John Miranda, Brooke HImel, Allyson and Teri Alexander, Corey and Hunter Roth and Samantha and DJ Roth. Preceded in death by his father, Orey Francis Alexander Sr. Arrangements by Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine.
