Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 1, 2013 at Geesey-Ferguson Funeral Home Chapel for Paul Donald "Poochie" Benoit, 71, who died February 23, 2013 in Crowley. Deacon Rodless Leleux will be officiating for the services. The family is requesting visiting hours to be held Thursday from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. and Friday from 11 a.m. to the time of service. Interment will be in Woodlawn Mausoleum. Poochie loved music, he played all instruments and in the 60's and 70's he was with two bands, Poochie and the Rhythm Masters and Poochie and the Dog Gones that performed in the Baton Rouge and surrounding areas. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Elaine McMullen Benoit of Crowley; one daughter, Karen Irene Benoit of Crowley; his mother, Mable "Mae" Mire of Crowley; two granddaughters, Kayla Benoit and Kim Gatlin.
