Thomas Talmadge Core, 70, passed away peacefully in his home on Wednesday, August 21, 2013 and is now in Paradise with his Heavenly Father. Born at home to Thomas Jefferson Core and Laura Bell McKee Core on May 7, 1943 in Folsom, LA. Proudly served his country in the United States Air Force and had a long career with State Farm Insurance. Loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and time spent at his camp with family and friends. He was a Shriner and a member of the New River Lodge. He was larger than life and "the mold has been broken". Survived by Kathleen Blank Core, his loving wife of 47 years, best friend and mother of his children. Also, survived by four children, their spouses and thirteen grandchildren. Tab and Jennifer Core - Hannah, Gabrielle, Caroline and Ella; John and Melissa Core Lee - Forrest, Rachel and Hunter; Chuck and Kristen Core - Madeline and Charlie; Chris and Julie Core Vasterling - Ben, Luke, Kathleen and Grace. Preceded in death by his parents and brother Jonathon Jerome Core. Also, survived by his siblings Mary C. Abell, Amelia C. Jenkins, Elizabeth C. Crow, Raymond R. Core and Chloe C. Coombe. Visitation will be held at Ascension Baptist Church, Gonzales, Louisiana on Friday August 23rd from 4 to 6 pm. A Memorial Service will follow.
