Thorena Montgomery Barksdale, 92, of Holden, LA, went to be with her husband, children and others before her on Thursday, Jan. 3, 2013 at North Oaks Medical Center. She was a native longtime resident of Walker, LA. She retired after many years of service with the Livingston Parish Food Services. She was a loving mother, grandmother great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all those who knew and loved her. Visitation will be at Seale Funeral Home, Livingston, on Saturday, Jan. 5, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visitation will resume Sunday, Jan. 6, from noon until service at 2 p.m., officiated by Rev. Barry Stanley. Burial will be at New Red Oak Cemetery. Survived by children, Louise and Wade Melton, Dorothy Barksdale, Barbara Oliver, James H. Barksdale, and Jesse and Rosalee Barksdale, Jr.; sister-in-law, Cindy Barksdale; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse Barksdale, Sr.; sons, Hubert, Kenny and Danny Barksdale; grandson, William Wilkinson; parents, August and Louise Montgomery; sister, Wilma Williams; brother, Harold H.
