A resident of Lutcher for 32 years, he died at 6:22 a.m. Saturday, May 23, 2009, at St. James Parish Hospital. He was 76 and a native of Crowville. Visitation at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Paulina, on Monday, May 25, from 8 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at the church on Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Frank Uter officiating. Entombment in the church mausoleum. Survived by his beloved wife of 38 years, Audrey Laiche Beavers; two brothers, Ted L. Beavers and his wife, Lina M. Beavers, and Jake Beavers; a sister, Annie Beavers Malone; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Levi and Iris Laiche, John and Rose Boe, Anna Lea Oubre, James Laiche, Albert and Joyce Laiche, Mack McClung and Leola Laiche; and a host of nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, Fred Beavers Sr. and Dovie Jones Beavers; and a brother, Fred Beavers Jr. He was employed as an operator with Colonial Sugar for 24 years. He was a member of the AARP, fourth degree with the Knights of Columbus and served as Sultan VI of the Krewe of Sinbad. Arrangements by Alexander Funeral Home in Lutcher.
