A native and resident of St. Amant, Louisiana, Troy James Berthelot died Monday, July 8, 2013. He was 52, a devoted husband, father and grandfather and an avid sportsman. Visitation will be at Ourso Funeral Home, Gonzales, 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday and at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, St. Amant, from 9 a.m. until a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. Thursday. Burial in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brent Fontenot, Bryan Schaubhut, Logan Boudreaux, Landon Boudreaux, Justin Berthelot and Tyler Robertson. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Wendy Ruiz Berthelot; two daughters, Heather Berthelot Fontenot and husband Brent and Andi Lea Berthelot and Bryan Schaubhut; parents, Myrtis Moran Berthelot and Jimmy Berthelot; a sister and brother-in-law, Wendy Berthelot Boudreaux and Scot Boudreaux; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael Berthelot and wife Melanie; a granddaughter, Landry Lou Schaubhut; and a step-grandson, Taylor Florien Fontenot. He is also survived by mother-in-law, Louise Savoy Ruiz; father-in law, Alvin Ruiz and Candace, sisters-in-law Jill Ruiz Robertson and husband Glenn and Kathy Ruiz Bourque, and a host of nieces and nephews, Justin, Jada and Jalea Berthelot; Logan, Leanne and Landon Boudreaux; Joshua, Tyler and Tobi Robertson; and Katie and Lexi Savoy. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rosalie and Telesmar Moran Sr. and paternal grandparents, Alosia and Leo Berthelot. He was employed by Super Products as a Regional Manager and an avid hunter and a true outdoorsman. He enjoyed riding his mules and spending time with his wife, family and friends. He also enjoyed spending time at his camp in Crosby, Mississippi and introducing his new granddaughter, Landry to the great outdoors.
