A gathering celebrating the life of Madalyn Nadine Krzykwa will begin at 9 am Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in French Settlement, La. A Mass of Christian Burial and Interment will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Church Cemetery. St. Joseph Catholic Church is located at 15710 LA Highway 16 French Settlement, LA. Madalyn began her earthly journey on January 10, 1998 in Norfolk, Virginia and continued her heavenly journey on Wednesday evening February 19,2014 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital at the age of 16 years, 1 month and 9 days. She was a member of the Catholic Faith; a student at French Settlement High School; Her main passion was painting. She ran and participated in 5K races; she also enjoyed cooking, horseback riding and riding motorcycles with her grandfather. She had a very happy and loving heart and brought joy into the lives of everyone she met. She touched so many lives her love will never be forgotten and her spirit will endure forever. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Tina R. Matherne (stepfather John Hoffman); her father Thomas F. Krzykwa (stepmother Ericka Krzykwa). Her siblings Tiffanie Renee, Clara Elisabeth, Tomas Cale, Dalis, Kris, Jonah and Savannah; her best friend and chosen sister Natalie Diamond Cardenas. Her grandparents Gilbert and Betty Matherne, Gordon and Jeanelle Lobell, Thomas and Jacqueline Krzykwa, and Deborah Justis as well as her Paran Courtney James Guitreau. She is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives as well as her feline companion Marley; canine companions Sophie and Bitty Man.
