Eugene Kenneth Jones, a native of New Orleans, graduate of Brother Martin High School and resident of Baton Rouge, passed away February 17th in Baton Rouge at the age of 51. Eugene never met a stranger, and he remained friends with many people he met over the years in his various occupations that included food service manager, nightclub manager, baseball umpire and marketing and sales specialist. His positive outlook on life was infectious to all around him, and his declining health from his long battle with pulmonary hypertension was an afterthought to him. Survived by his mother, Joy Compagno Jones, two sisters, Terrilyn Jones Hannan (husband Kelly) in Baton Rouge and Charlene Jones Trascher (husband Ted) in Houston and a daughter, Lisa Jones Harper (husband Dave) in Hammond. His family wishes to thank his personal physician, Dr. Ben deBoisblanc, Oschner Hospital New Orleans, The Carpenter House and Sunrise Assisted Living. They also are extremely grateful to those who visited him and spoke with him during the last few weeks of his life.
