Ruby Louise (Hilton) Halley, 94, a native of Sabine Parish, died peacefully at her home on March 7th, surrounded by her family. Ruby and her husband were married in 1939, have called Baker home since 1968, and have been committed members of First Baptist Church of Baker for 28 years. Celebrating her departure for the "Land That Is Fairer Than Day" are her husband, Rev J.T. Halley, their daughters Wanda Kay Farrar and husband Dwayne of Houston, Rebecca Halley Wilson and husband Jeff of Bradenton, and son Rodney Hilton Halley and wife Remey Halley of Baker. Ruby has 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Wiley Hamilton and Hattie Harper Hilton, two sisters, Ruth Svoren and Aline Autrey, a brother Dan Hilton and two daughters, Ruby Joyce Sewell and Judith Ann Brunson. Friends and family are invited to join in this celebration of Ruby's life at First Baptist Church in Baker, 3213 Groom Road on Saturday March 8th and will be conducted by her son in law Rev Melvin Brunson, assisted by FBC pastor Rev Gary Richerson. Viewing from 1pm at First Baptist until services at 3pm. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Burial will be in a family plot in Start, La on a date yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers Ruby requests donations be made to the Louisiana Baptist Children's Home in Monroe, La. Arrangements by Rabenhorst. Special thanks to her friends Jeanette, EttaLee, Christina, Wanda, Stephanie, all of the personnel of Hospice Compassus and Medical Pharmacy in Zachary and all of her many friends at First Baptist Church.
