Annie B. Parker, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, great, great grandmother, sister, and friend to many, passed away on Sunday, March 23, 2014 at the age of 87. Annie B. was born in Oak Grove, LA on February 20, 1927 to Earl "Bud" and Lela Sanders. She made her home in Baton Rouge for nearly sixty years. She was best known for her bubbly personality that brought joy to everyone she met, her sweet disposition, her servant's heart, and her unconditional love for all of her family and friends. Annie B. was preceded in death by her husband of thirty-one years, Elige "Jr." Parker, her parents Earl "Bud" and Lela Sanders, two brothers, Leonard and Earl "Buddy" Sanders, and one sister, Letha Sanders Costello. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Gerry and Harold Cupit of Oak Grove, LA and Debra and Tommy Devall of Baton Rouge, LA, (six grandchildren) Denise McClendon (John), Susie Dartlon (Byron), Brad Cupit, Andrea Mayers (Aaron), Anisha Hunter, and Allyson Hull (Jeremy), (twelve great grandchildren) Amie Martin (Anthony), Arica McCann, Jordan Smith, Lindsey and Dillon Dartlon, Reese, Trace, Gabi, and Dane Forbes, and Kaleb, Carter, and Chance Hull. Annie B. was also blessed to have had five great-great-grandchildren, Haley, Collin, and Riley McCann, and Case and Cale Martin, giving her a five-generation family. She was also survived by two brothers, Donald Sanders (Mattie) and Leo Sanders (Essie), all of Oak Grove, LA, Joyce Bass, a long time family friend, and many more relatives and friends. Pallbearers will be John McClendon, Byron Dartlon, Aaron Mayers, Jeremy Hull, Anthony Martin, David Hubbard, Douglas Hubbard, Scott Matthews and honorary pallbearer Jim Franklin. Visitation for Ms. Annie B. will be held at Rabenhorst East Funeral Home, at 11000 Florida Blvd. in Baton Rouge, LA, on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 from 5 to 9 PM and again on Wednesday, March 26 from 12 to 2 PM with services to follow, lead by Brother Mike Howard. Burial proceedings will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens Cemetery, at 6213 Groom Road in Baker, LA. The family would like to thank everyone who prayed for her, called, sent cards, and came by to visit. The family would also like to extend their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of St. Joseph's Hospice for the care of their loved one during the time she spent at the Carpenter's House, as well as all other medical professionals who aided in her treatment in her final years.
