Deacon Esnard F. Gremillion ""Gremi"", a native of Baton Rouge, resident of Denham Springs, passed away on Friday, April 11, 2014 at the age of 81. He retired from BASF as a maintenance mechanic after 26 years. He served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He was involved in the OCAW Local 4620, the Knights of Columbus, St. Pius X Council 6531. Deacon Esnard was ordained a permanent deacon for the Diocese of Baton Rouge in June of 2006. Deacon Esnard is survived by his wife of 17 years, Margaret ""Peggy"" Rapier Gremillion; children, Douglas Gremillion and wife, Kathy, Duane Gremillion and wife, Robin, Mary Gremillion Stovall and husband, William "Rabbit" Stovall, Angela Gremillion Hedrick and husband, Chad Hedrick, Liz P Lavender, Jim Planchard and wife, Dinah, Andy Planchard, and Patrick Kimble; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Zucarrello and Kathleen Hibbet. He is preceded in death by his parents, Esnard and Maude Gremillion; wife of 41 years, Angela Moran Gremillion; 6 brothers and 3 sisters; and grandson, Joshua Planchard. Pallbearers are Doug Gremillion, Duane Gremillion, Jason Gremillion, Justin Gremillion, Scott Gremillion, William ""Rabbit"" Stovall, Matthew Gremillion, Aaron Gremillion, Thomas Korkosz, Chad Hedrick, Derek Hedrick, Jesse Hedrick, Travis Glissman, Walter Gravois, and Patrick Kimble. Visitation will be on Monday, April 14 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Greenoaks Funeral Home. Visitation will continue on Tuesday, April 15 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Denham Springs from 9:30 a.m. until Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 a.m. conducted by Father Frank Uter.
