J.C., at the age of 60 went to see his Lord and Savior on Friday, April 11, 2014 surrounded by his family. He was a native of Hammond and a resident of Maurepas. He loved the Lord and preached his word as a well-respected Baptist Minister and was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. J.C. enjoyed fishing, reading, cooking for everyone, spending time with friends and family and making memories. He was a devoted and selfless Christian who would help anyone and loved his family beyond measure and would go to extreme lengths to make them happy. J.C. liked to joke and pick but when push came to shove he always knew how to show people how to come to know the Lord. J.C. is survived by his devoted wife of 15 years, Patsy Palmer; daughters, Hollie Cooper and husband Mark, Mary Beth Forrest and husband Les; his mother, Shirley Palmer; grandchildren, Dylan and Katie Forrest, Justin, Jackie and David Cooper; brothers, Robert and wife Jamie, Jerrie and wife Pam, Roy and wife Phyllis, Jimmy and wife Carol; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Preceeding J.C. in death were his father, Jerrie Palmer. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Jerusalem Baptist Church in Pumpkin Center on Monday, April 14, 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visitation will resume Tuesday, April 15, at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life service at 12:00 noon. Bro. Phil Weaver will be officiating the services assisted by Bro. Rocky Brown and Bro. Ty Wells with interment to follow in Jerusalem Baptist Church Cemetery.
