Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 23, 2014 at an 11:00 AM Service in Martin & Castille's La Fleur de Lis Chapel in Lafayette, for Dorothy Jones Parsons, ageless, who died at 9:19 AM on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at her residence in Lafayette. Entombment will be in Fountain Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Reverend Ted Standley will conduct the funeral services. Karen Broussard, pianist, will sing for the services, "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art", "When The Roll Is Called Up Yonder" and "Somewhere Over The Rainbow", accompanied by Tommy Benoit, violinist. Survivors include two daughters, Reakey D'Antoni and her husband, John D'Antoni and Kimberly Parsons and her grandchild, Kimberly's daughter, Perry Olivia Parsons. She was preceded in death by her parents, Euel Sanford Jones and the former Ruby Elise Hanson, both natives of Alabama and seven sisters, Lucy Brocato, Ruby Williford, Sue Deodati, Jackie Cockerham, Stella Hake, Jean Lee and Sarah Jones and two brothers, Hanson Waldrup and Dicky Jones. Mrs. Parsons was born on October 22, in Homer, Louisiana and was a resident of Lafayette. She was a veteran of military service and proudly served her country in the United States Marine Corps during World War II. She was a member of First Christian Church and Beta Sigma Phi. Pallbearers will be Jay Smith, Robert Wood, Richard Williford, Glenn Dugas, Bob Guidry and John D'Antoni. The family requests that visitation be observed in Martin & Castille's SOUTHSIDE location on Tuesday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM and on Wednesday from 9:00 AM until time of service.
