Ralph A. Riles passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends at home on May 7, 2014. He was born in Delhi, LA on March 17,1925 and was a life long resident of Baton Rouge. Ralph served in the United States Navy during WWII as a Quartermaster Ship Captain. He will be missed by all who knew him. There was always a hug and kiss for the ladies and a strong handshake for the men. He always had a smile on his face and never had a complaint. Ralph loved to fish and he had numerous fish stories to tell - some, actual facts ... some, sort of "fishy". Ralph is survived by his only daughter Cheryl R. Dispenza and her husband Tommy Dispenza. He has two grandsons, Matthew S. Dispenza (Jessica J. Roberts) and David M. Dispenza. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Eunice Riles the love of his life; his parents Ralph Archie Riles and Mathilda Hoyt, his brother Ernest Riles and sister Beatrice Gueldner. Visitation will be at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East 11000 Florida Blvd. on Sunday, May 11th from 5PM to 8PM and on Monday, May 12th from 10 AM until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM at St. George Catholic Church celebrated by the Rev. Mike Schatzle. Entombment will follow in the St. George Mausoleum. Pallbearers will be Gerry Chidester, Skipper Chidester, Danny Deville, Malcolm Zanca, Jessie Cutrer and Jerry Vaughn. Special thanks to Pat and Gerry Chidester and Karen Deville for all their support. Memorial Donations may be made to: St George Capital Campaign Fund, 7808 St. George Drive, Baton Rouge, LA 70809. Friends and family are asked to sign the online registry at www.rabenhorst.com
