Ruth Ella James Schofield passed away on Wednesday, June 18, 2014. She was a native of Orange Grove Plantation, Port Allen, and a retired school bus driver for the West Baton Rouge Parish school system. Survivors include a daughter, Tawanda Schofield; two sisters, Nellie Valery and Josie Critney; three brothers, Ronnie James, Earnest James and Larry James; eight grandchildren, Alex Schofield, Alexes Schofield, Ashley Schofield, Ashton Schofield, Katera Skelton, Kalena Skelton, Kalvin Skelton and Kolby Skelton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dock and Sylvia James; and five brothers, Willie James, Wilson James, Frank James, Jessie James and Benny James. Visiting will from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014, at Union Baptist Church, Brusly, with family hour from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Visiting will continue from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at Second Baptist Church, with services at 11 a.m. at the church conducted by the Rev. Johnny Johnson Jr. Interment will be in Union Baptist Church cemetery. Services entrusted to Hall Davis and Son Funeral Service.
