A resident of Baton Rouge, she passed away at 12:30 a.m. Sunday, June 29, 2014, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center-Mid City. She was 66, born in New Orleans on June 28, 1948. Visiting will be held at Ebenezer Baptist Church on Friday, July 11, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., followed by a religious service on Saturday, July 12, at 12:30 p.m., conducted by the Rev. Eddie Sulcer Jr. She is survived by a daughter, two sons, two sisters, two brothers, three stepsisters, two stepbrothers, 17 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Lanora Curry; mother, Bernice Butler; father, Henry Hives III; and sister, Vivan Butler.
