A native of Battle and resident of Clinton, he was 75 and a retired Diesel Mechanic. He passed away on Tuesday, July 8, 2014 at10:40 PM at the Hospice of Baton Rouge, Mid-City Butterfly Wing. Visitation will be on Friday, July 11th, 5pm to 8pm at Richardson Funeral Home, 11816 Jackson Street, Clinton. Funeral Service will be on Saturday, July 12th at 11 AM at Beachum Grove Baptist Church, 8877 Battle Road, Ethel, conducted by Reverend Sterling Wrights. Interment will be in St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. He is survived by his wife; Mary Thomas, one daughter; Beulah Bennett, four sons; Larry Chapman, Walter (Edna) Chapman, Donald (Mary) McCallister and Jessie Chapman, one brother; Jessie Thomas, Jr. and sixteen grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; Louvenia and Jessie Thomas, Sr., one daughter, one son, one son-in-law and one daughter-in-law.
