Annie Bell Tyler Williams was born on April 12, 1920 in Leonville, La at 6 am. She departed from us in the early morning of July 18, 2014. Annie Bell was 94 years old. She was the daughter of the late Ashton Tyler and Selia Kennerson Tyler also of Leonville, La. She was baptized into the Catholic church when she was a baby, but later in life, joined and was baptized into the Baptist religion. She was a member and usher of Greater St. Luke Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, La and later joined The First Little Rock Baptist Church of Baton Rouge, La. Annie Bell leaves to mourn her son, Arrington J. Augustus, Sr., goddaughter Mary Jean Ross, both of Baton Rouge, La; her godson Chester Stevens, Jr. of California; two sisters, Mary Tyler Moore of Bryan, Texas, Jerry Tyler of Dallas, Texas ; five grandchildren-Kenny Wayne Patterson, Brian J. Augustus and LaTonia (Sean, Sr.) Bertrand all of Baton Rouge, La, Jamal Augustus and Arrington J. Augustus, Jr. of Houston, Texas. "Mamma Bell" had 10 great grandchildren- Destiny, Kaylin, Delana, Kaleb, ElBriaunna, Diamon and Zy'Adria Augustus; Sean, Jr. and Seanna Bertrand, and Delvin Brown, all of Baton Rouge, La. Annie Bell was preceded in death by her brothers- Alfred, Cleveland, Emile and "T-Boy" Tyler of Dallas, Texas; her maternal grandmother- Marie Kennerson, and stepmother Gustavia Tyler both of Leonville, La; a very close aunt- Orelia Thibodeaux of Opelousas, La; a special cousin cousin (like a sister), Mary Anna Wallace and four husbands all of Baton Rouge, La and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be at Winnfield Funeral Home Chapel, Saturday, July 26, 2014, from 9 am to 10 am. Funeral services immediately following visitation at 10 am.
