Robbyn Chavonne Barnett passed away on Tuesday, July 22, 2014, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge. She was 29, a native and resident of Baton Rouge, and Adjunct Professor at Texas Southern University, Houston, Texas. She was an honors graduate of Belaire High in 2003 and Magna Cum Laude Graduate of LSU with a Bachelor's of Science in Biology. She received her Masters Degree in Biology from TSU. She loved shopping, reading, traveling, family gatherings and football. Visiting will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, July 27, 2014, at Hall's Celebration Center, with a service at 6 p.m. at the center conducted by the Rev. Anthony Royal. Visiting will continue Monday from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at New Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Grosse Tete, La., with dismissal at 10 a.m. at the church. Interment will be in New Mt. Olive Baptist Church cemetery. Survivors include her parents, Myrtle Barnett, George Barnett and Joe N. East Jr.; a sister, Dr. Krystal Barnett, Frisco, Texas; a brother, Richard D. Barnett (Keisha), Baton Rouge; and her godchildren, Kayleigh Barnett and Amari Snell. Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Euralie and Lena Hawkins, and paternal grandfather, George V. Barnett Sr. Services entrusted to Hall Davis & Son Funeral Home.
