Alice Landry Jones, a native and resident of St. James. She died at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center in Baton Rouge, at 5:55 p.m.., Tuesday, July 22, 2014. She was 84. Visiting at Peaceful Zion Baptist Church, St. James, Saturday, August 2, 2014, from 9:30 a.m until religious services at 11:00 a.m. conducted by the Rev. Johnny Lawrence, Jr. Interment in church cemetery. Survived by four daughters: Syvinia Jones, Joann Williby, Shelia Alsay and Patricia Bell. Eight sons: Edward, Sherman, Ullysses Jr., Sullivan, Stevenson Sr., Michael, Larry And Danny Jones. Three brothers: Wilma, Jules Jr., and Albert Landry Sr. Twenty-four grandchildren, twenty great-grandchildren, numerous niece, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Preceded in death by her parents: Jules Landry Sr. and Rose Smith Landry. Her husband, Ullysses Jones Sr. A daughter, Marie Jones. Four sons: Nelson, Alfred, Paul and Kerry Jones. Two sisters: Noon Jones and Geneva Trench and three brothers: Alfred, Herbert And Wilbert Landry, Sr. Brazier-Watson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
