Charles passed away on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at his home at the age of 73. He was a retired detective with over 35 years of Law Enforcement with Iberville and East Baton Rouge Parish Sherriff's Office. He was a native of Mississippi and a resident of Bayou Pigeon. Visiting will be at Wilbert Funeral Home, Plaquemine on Saturday, August 30, 2014 from 5 to 9pm and will resume on Sunday, August 31, 2014 from 9am until religious services at 1pm, conducted by Rev. Ken Austin. He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Judy Cook of Plaquemine; four sons, Charles R. Cook, Jr. and wife Barbara Gail of Watson, Ricky T. Cook of Baton Rouge, James H. Cook and wife Sonia of Colorado Springs, CO, Richard Cook and wife Sonya of Pierre Part; three daughters, Debbie E. Ainsworth and husband Dale of Edinburg, MS, Christy A. Garcia and husband Manuel of Bayou Pigeon, and Laura A. Bayham and husband Floyd of Walker; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren; one brother, Willie F. Cook of Searcy, Arkansas; and two sisters, Sarah Ramage of Wiona, MS, and Terri Marchbanks of Monroe. Charles was preceded in death by his parents, James Woodward and Mattie Louise Tyson Cook; three brothers, Lavern, John and Jimmy Cook; and one sister, Betty Warren.
