50 years ago I worked at Wilson's in Jackson, Mississippi.
I was on break and Mr. Wilson came in the break room.
He was very kind and I was intimidated, but his kindness
soon calmed my fears. It was a pleasure to meet him.

To the family of H.J. Wilson
I just wanted to say I am sorry for your loss of Mr. Wilson. I worked at Wilson's in Cortana when I was 17 til I was 20 years old. I remember Mr. Wilson coming into the break room one day when I was short a dime for a coke. He saw me looking for change and immediately pulled out some change to get me that coke. Also, I remember him coming through the Toy department while I was a young teenager repairing the plastic on the doll boxes that customers had torn off. He told me that "they just wanted to feel what they felt like". I always thought that was so generous and nice of him to think that way about the customers. Another thing I remember was how I used to like to pretend I was Mr. Wilson's niece while working there. My maiden name is Wilson so when the customers would see my name tag and ask me I would joke with them and say I was his niece. They knew I was kidding of course. I had fun with that though. Well, just wanted to tell you of my experience of working for him as a young person. I believe he was a great man and the world needs more like him. May you have comfort in knowing that he is now in the arms of Jesus.

Huey was a loving, caring family man. He was at every funeral on our side of the family. My Great Grandpa Wilson was his Daddy's brother. My Grandmother Lela, loved Huey and was always so glad and proud to see him as representative of her Uncle Franks family. I can remember going to Uncle Frank's house on Plank Road across from the Airport. I always admired how close Huey's family was, especially sitting in the back room with the long dinner table. Our family has truly lost a great man, but God blessed him and now has a greater calling for him. I truly love all my family members and pray for them in this time of grieving.

I've known Mr. Huey Wilson for 10 years. I worked for him part-time at his jewelry store at Cortana Mall for 3 years. He loved the jewelry business. He was always so cheerful and kind and willing to teach me something about diamonds and gemstones. If a customer came in and asked for "Mr. Wilson", he would reply, " That's my father, I'm Huey Wilson". It was a sad day when the store closed and all of us were there with him to close the doors for the last time. I will always remember him saying that if he knew that his health was going to be as good as it was he would not have liquidated Wilson's Jewelry Store. I was just glad he was okay. Then in 2007 I went to work in Sherwood Towers, 2 suites from his office. I had the honor of seeing him again when he would come into his office and I got to talk to him. He always remembered me from his jewelry store. Mr. Wilson accomplished so many wonderful things in his life and touched so many lives. I was one of the lucky ones that got the pleasure of knowing him. God has called him home as his job is finished here on earth and the Angels are rejoicing in Heaven. Mr.Wilson is having a family reunion with all his loved ones that have gone on before him and have been patiently waiting for him. Mr.Huey Wilson will always be loved and remembered by so many people.
