A retired electrician, a native of Baton Rouge and a resident of Montgomery, he died Sunday, Oct. 18, 2009, at 11:59 a.m. in Alexandria. He was 86 and a U.S. Army veteran and POW in World War II. He was the recipient of numerous medals. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., on Wednesday, Oct. 21, from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Visiting continues at the funeral home chapel on Thursday from noon until the religious service at 2 p.m., conducted by Kenneth Tarver and Barbara Beaumont. Interment in Resthaven Gardens of Memory. He is survived by his wife, Bobbie Snow Rawlins; two daughters, Debra Kennard and husband Jerry, of Denham Springs, and Vicki Shows, of Verda; a sister, Mary Chauff and husband Blitz, of Donaldsonville; a brother, James Rawlins and wife Beverly, of Baton Rouge; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Sara Rawlins; son, Charles "Ricky" Reynolds; sister, Beatrice Adams; and brother, J.B. Rawlins. Pallbearers will be Jerry Kennard, Jason Kennard, Michael Allen, Jimmy Rawlins, Kevin Rawlins and Charles Newsom. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity.
